Reagan, Why Oils?

What's brought us to this point? Blogging about oils? Well, it's simple.  We love them & know that once you learn about them you'll love them too.

Here's a pic of me and my family from this past Easter, so you can put a face with a name. :)
So, who am i? I am a stay at home mom of three boys.  I'm married to a super smart & wonderful CPA.   I'm a creative person that is always looking for something new to do.  I can't sit still too long without going crazy--unless i have a margarita in my hand, then there'll be sitting & laughing until the cup's runneth dry.

Now that we know each other a little bit, why did i get into oils? It started with my friend Jen (co-blogger on EO), got into it & couldn't contain her excitement & gave me some samples to try.  I started using the samples...on me, in my water, rubbed a little on my boys--and you know what? I started loving them too!

I got excited to wake up every morning & try the 3 little oils she gave me in different ways.  Lavender was by far my favorite (she gave me lemon & peppermint too).  I've used lavender to soothe burns on my hands from cooking, induced sleep (swiping on my feet), to make homemade deodorant & in my DIY face cream! I love the smell of it & the effects of it!

I present, the premium starter kit!

I was sold. The next thing i wanted to do was to figure out the cheapest way to really get into the oils, because i'm cheap.  Jen kept mentioning the Premium Starter Kit.  I was like, no thanks that's $150, I don't' want to spend that much.  Then i started researching all the things i wanted for sure: a diffuser, Lavender, Lemon, Peppermint--those 4 things alone are $172.69 retail!  So when i looked at the kit & realized that i got 8 MORE OILS to play with & a wholesale membership (so i could get wholesale prices whenever i wanted)-- i wanted the kit.  It was stupid not to get it, seriously it is. Moving on!

My fave (right now)!
I think my favorite oil now is peppermint oil.  A couple of the ways i use it is in my water for digestion, i rub it on my head when i have a headache, & i diffuse it in the late afternoon for an energy boost! I actually took some in an empty capsule the other night  for a really, bad upset stomach (next time, i'll pass on the cream sauce) & my stomach didn't cramp up again! It's truly amazing what this amazing little oil can do!

Once i started learning all the things the oils can do for me, I turned to my oldest son, he's about to turn 10 in a couple weeks.  He'd been labeled "developmentally delayed" until last year, we had some genetic testing done & learned he has Klinefelter's syndrome.  It's where you have an extra X chromosome --so he has 2 X's & 1 Y.  That's caused most of his delays in speech, maturity & other things.  He isn't autistic, but has a lot of autistic characteristics, but not enough to make the 'label cut-off' for lack of a better term.  Anyways, i'd heard that YLEO's were helping kids with autism, ADD, ADHD & lot's of emotional and behavioral problems!  So then i really, got invested & started researching Young Living Essential Oils!  I'm going to do a separate post on Aiden, because this one is already getting longer than i intended & i need to go cook dinner.  You can expect it to be posted in about a week or two!

I'll go ahead and give you a snippet that i'm pretty sure Valor & Cedarwood are changing his general attitude & overall happiness at home & school, but like i said--he'll get his own post--soon, very soon! ;)

For now, i hope you all will give oils a chance if you're thinking about it!
You won't regret it.  I bet you'll love them & then you'll be sharing them with your friends & family before you know it!
